WELLIXGTON, April 29. A message received from the Maunganui now enroute to the United Kingdom with the Xew Zealand Victory eou lingent aboanl, tells how Anzac D-i.\ was celebrated by the ship 's personnel. At'll o'clock iu the morning all troops stood to attehtion for' a two minutes silence. After this a laurei wreath made by Sister Xepia was cast over board as a tribute from all mernbers of the Victory contingent to their com rades who fell in the t\vo wars. The Alaunganni arrived at Papeete at ! 10.30 last Friday morniug. A! embers of the contingent, except thos'e of women X seryices, c.arried out an liour's route ' inarch after which evervbody was granted leave. The commander of the ] contingent, Lieutonant-G-eneral Hir Ed- ! ward Puttick, Colonel Andrew, V.C., j and other officers, afterwards paid a j eall 011 the Gove'fnor. In- the evening, i the Governor gave a small dinner part, i and afterwards all the troops were en■tertained by a party of .Tahitian singers and dancers in the gardens of Government Ilouse. Suhscquently the guests were presentejd to their Excellencies During the afternoon a number of the troops' were entertained at the Freneh Arhiy barracks. The trip was resumed at G a.m. on R'aturday. Before sailing the Arayor of Papeete sent a large gift of fruit aboard for the troops.
