It is only at holiday times that this is realised, when. trains: and buses from north and south .bring sons' and daughters of . our .residents home for the holidays. How long will it • be before Shannon can emplcy these young people, and so, , ease the anxiety of many parents as ' to the welfarb n of their • sons anddaughters, who have had to go :*to . the cities to find work arid:a :suit-; able place to ' board that ,iS' withini ; their means? . .. . . j A questionn^ire is to' be citculated1 among local householders to ascet- , tain the possibilities of starting atn industry in Shannon. The committee, which was formed 'at a public meeting some time ago, is anxious that every householder will assist it by filling in and returning the forms, and so give an idea of just what labour would be availablb and what type of industry would be most suited for the district. It is the duty of every publicminded citizen to get behind this committee and give all the help it needs, so that sons and daughters of .citizens may .be given employment in the town in wnich . they belong, It is for every man and woman in Shannon, .not just the five members of the committee, to make an industry in the town a possibility and not just another dream.
