WELLINGTON, April 27. Undcr the Statiites Amendment Act 1915, it is an oifenco for a person to endeavour, without authority, to open the door of or got inside a motor vehiclc preparatory to drivi-ug it away; In the Wellington Magiatrate's Court today,. the first Wellington prosecution for an oli'ence of this type, was heard when David Carroll, aged 25, labourer, was .sentenced to a inonth's lmprisonment by Mr. fcjtilwell, S.M. Accused was seen by a coustable last evening getling out of a parkcd truck. Questioned by the coustable, Carroll claimed he had the owner's permissxon to be in the vehiclc but when taken to the police station, admitted lie had nu authority. When charged today he pleaded guilty.
