RECREATION FOR INDUSTRIAL WORKERS
A frosli cll'ort is being mude by physk'al welfare officers of the hepartment of Internal Affairs to ]iromote suitable recreation for iudustrial workors. At this stagc the women officers are mainly concerned, as it is recognised that the needs of women and girls have tlie chief elaim for attcntion. The prejiarations include contaets with trade unions, employers, the Labour Departnient, cliild welfare and voeational officers, forewonien and shop stewards, in order to obtain complete and thorough knowledge of tlie conditions in each factory and the types ot workers. All possible precautions* are being taken to ensure the fonnulation of practicabie plans.
