"CITIZEN."
CONDITION OF CEMETERY • Sir, — On visiting the Levin Cemeterytlus week the wncer was disgusted with the bad state • of the oemetery. Pachs are overgrown with weeds and the general appearance is one ot neglecc. Sureiy this is one place in the oorough that .fiiould be kept in order. Whiie on tne suojecd of weeds and neglect, -one wonders if any of the _.evm Borough Council's streets eommittee ever walks round to inspect the streets. In most of •them there are weeds, and among .hem noxious ones are growing in abundance, especially on the tootpatns. Not iong ago the council was appealing to citizens to have civic pnde and keep the grass outside tneir houses cut. Many people nave done this, and it does help the appearance of the street, DUt why does not the council do its share and weed the footpaths. ' The town fathers have lately taken up a go-ahead Levin policy, and are to be commended for it, but why not keep the streets they have now in order before starting new ones. Trusting something wiil je.done soon and hoping that the Mayor and Councillors will pay a visit to the cemetery and see for themselves the state it is in. Yours cGC.,
Levin, April 24.
