THEFTS FROM CASTLE
' LUXUOVi, April 22. The police and dealers are puzzled about the purpose of the thieves who broke into Coloirel Astor's Hever Castle. Dealers in London today said that there eould be no value in the art marlcet for the objects stolen. Lady Astor's mink coat was the only piece of any monetary 'value. The police at first *assumed that the only possilxle purpose of the raid on tne castle must have been to secure a. small, speeilied number of objects coveted by some extraordinarily enthusiastie but unscrupulous collector. Dealers eniphasise that there would not be even a black market for the missing relics and curios. The police have some leads. A cigarette lighter believed to have been dropped by the thieves has been found, and a party of young women, who sa\y | the Rplls-Royce ear qsed bv the thieves, | ara- helping '-the invistigators. & | 'Ihe thieves, although they threatenI ed the watehman, treated. him with aW ' consideration. They laid him on a mai and put a pillow under his head, but l.the watehman, nevertli.ele.ss, is very fed up. He has left the castle and gone to Tunbridge Wells to "get away from it all". . -
