The old piroverb, "It's an ill wina that blows nob'ody any good," applies to the Hitler youth .movement, whicn has juelded one thing suitable for inclusion in British physieal welfare programmes. It is the exercise lcnown as "sjing Ball, " introduced to New Zealand by Mr. P. Smitliells, the Education Department 's Superintendent oi Physieal Education. It is not eomparable with well-thrown ball games. It is rather an exercise, rhymthie swinging throws of tlie ball by means of an attached strap from various positions of the body. A reeent demonstration by women physieal welfare offleers of the Department of Internal Affairs was filmed by the Government studio.
