A letter was reccived from the Soils Conscrvation Council at a meeting of tlie Manawatu-Oroua River Board in Palmerston North on Tliursday, statiug that a subsidy of 3 to J had been approved for the board 's intended stopbankiug near the Parekavvau Cut, at an estimated cost of £;"500. The Manawatu Catchment Board vvrote intimating that it was prepared t6 assist in the matter of the Moutoa stopbauks, but that nothing could be done until all levels had been submitted in order to enable the Catchment Board to understand the position fully. It was resolved that a reply be sent the Catchment Board, stating that the levels were being prepared and would be forwarded by the Board as soou as completed. Mr. J. Chrystall presided over Messrs R. Saunders, R. J ■ Law, S. Newth, J. B. Chrystall, L. J. Vile, J. Mitchell, W. Jackson, and W. II. Barrow.
