Yesterday men otfered freeJy for work as exp.ected, but heavv rain cancelled the work. -There will be no call for labour today and prospect?, when calls are made tomorrow, are not con sidered bright. For tnanV weeks now waterside workers have disregard ed the Saturday call. The prioritv cominittee has decided that 19 urgent ships should be worked over tlie holidays. Mhipping authorities are resigned to the probability that no labour can be obtaiued for th'e majoritv of these anu that the ships will stay immobilised until Tuesday.
