The Government forces. were short of amniunition but receivingj constant air support. The Coinmunists ' Yenan radio reported that Communists had entirelv annihilated a division of the Government 's lirst army at strategic Pamiencheiig, 20 iniles west of S/.epingkai, from where Government forces were atempting to aid Changcluin. The Chungking Government news dispatches state that CTiangchun 's garfisou has retained only two buildings agtiinst the heavv Conimunist arlillery pounding and would probably be forced to surrender today. There was no report oi' radio yontact tvith Changchun since vesterday. A Mukden dispatch says Changehtin defenders suffered lieavy casualties. Ineeiuliarv shclis burned out several defencc points. The attacking coltimns were spearheaded by five medium tanks driven and gunned by ' ' officers of a certain country. " j
