YOUNG MAEGAKET CASE. The* appeal of Mrs. E. and Mr, H. M. Rough against the ^ecision of the Wanganui dlstrict conunittee in disqualifylng theru for a period of one month as from April 2, 1946, was heard before Messrs. J. Macfarlane Laing, B. L. Hammond, and J. T. Spears, appeal judges, in Wellington yesterday. The appellants had been originally qharged with having knowingly entered Young Margaret for hack events when she was not eligible. After hearing Mr. A. M. Ongley, counsel for the appellants, the evitlence of Mr. B. Burgess, the trainer of Young Margaret, dnd Mr. F. F. Newman, on behalf of the Wanganui district committee, the judges found for the appellants on the grounds that the evidence failed to establish that the appellants had knowingly entered the horse in contravention of rule 179, sub-clause 2, of the Rules of Racing.
