LARGE FIELD IN BIG MILE AT ELLERSLIE

Feilding and Wairarapa Handy For Locals Review of the Fields j

(Special — From L. M. M.) WELLINGTON, This Day. This week-end and Monday being the Easter period will see two of the heaviest racing days on the calendar, there being eight galloping and two trotting fixtures on Saturday and eight gaiioping meetings on Monday. The mairi feature on Saturday will be the Easter Handicap at Ellerslie in which there are 29 carded, including Sleepy Fox at the top of the weights with the steadier of 10.2. He has been working well since his return from AustTralia and is sure to be one of the prime fancies for the race. Fair fields are carded for Wairarapa, but at Feilding they are on a much larger scale, and in the Ongo Hack Handicap provision had to be made to run the race in divisions. The Rotorua fixture has drawn excellent fields in spite of racing on the same day as the opening of the Auckland meeting. The Metropilitan Trotting Club will conclude its meeting at Addington on Saturday and the Hawera Trots will also be held. Bctting will be win and place at all thesc fixtures.
