Edster Sports ' -Li' ;• As no reply -has been . received from the Masterton Athletic Club relative to its proposed sports: meeting, a number of athletes from Otaki will now visit Petone at Easter. Pension Payments Pensions for April will be paid out as under at the Otaki Post Office:— Age, April 17; widows, miners, invalids and orphans, April 18; and war pensions and war veterans allowances, April 30. ' Patriotic Dance , . Owing to the fact that the Otaki Patriotic Committee is unable to. secure a first-class orchestra-, despite applications to many of the larger towns, it has been decided to postpone their dance; which was to have been held on Easter Monday, to a date to be arranged. False Fire Alarm Yesterday arterrioon the siren 'sounded- a false alarm, this being due to a new hand on the telepnont> exchange pressing the wrong button. Firemen were quiekly at the station, while other residents ; hurried into the streets to ascertain the location of what they thought was a fire.
