A nieeting of Wellington district raiiway gtxards today carried the following resolution at a well attended meeting: — "That, having regard to the lofig hours WorKed Without aiiy fespite hy h dCpleted staff, we wish td register an emphatic protest at any proposkl to extend facilities for the public to - attend race meetings, picnics, etc., on Saturdays and Sundays. We will fe> " sent any attempt made to. add to the already heavy hurden of the operat- - ing staff, and call on the . administf ktive officers of the department to reduce considerahly the already overweighted Saturday and Sunday train serviCes, hy aholishing such luxufy .traffiC as race aiid picnic trains on Satmrdays and Sundays."
