FOOD ROTS WHILE WORKERS STRIKE
Received Sunday 7 p.m. LODDON, April 13. The Ministry of Food census reveals that millions of eggs, ■ thousands of pounds of bacon, and tons of fats, butter and margarine, are in danger of rotting through a Smithfield strike. The Daily Mail says troops will handle London's rationed foods on Monday morning if the Smithfield strike is not settled by then. The market was deserted this morning.
