Received Saturday, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, April 12. The Dominidn Prime , Minister's conference is Expected to take steps to restore Australia from the United States defence zone to a specifically British Commonwealth sphere, says Reuter's military correspondent. The future ot Empire defence policy would be one of the most impdrtant items to | be discussed when the Premiers meet. Thev correspondent expresses the opinion that there'will be a change in traditional defence policy arising from the reorganising of the military forces ih the Middle East, and as a fesult of the present negotiations in India, emphasis would be on a long-term defence programme, securing all essential Em- j pire positions without imposing an unbearable strain on any one I country.
