Received Ffxday, 11.30 p.m. CANBERRA, April 12.. A record xiuinher of divorce pstxtions — 5443 — was lodged in the Supreme Court during 1915. fn: divorce total was 4907, whxch was also a record. The figures have heen increasing steadily during the war years from the 1939 total of 2370. This year hushands lodged 3180 petitioixs ana wives 2262. O'ne petition was lodgel hy a wife's father. Desertion was the principal ground of divorce. In 933 cages where aecrees were made ahsolute on tiie ground of adultery, 641 of the petitiOners were hushands and( oniy 292 wives.
