RECIPROCAL AIR RIGHTS IN THE PACIFIC

Received Friday, 11.5 p.m. CANBERRA, April 12. The Commonwealth Government has heen informed that the United States is prepared to accept Australia 's draft of the vital agreement for reciprocal air rights in the Pacific. The Federal Government is now confident that the agreement, on which hinges trans-Pacific operations hy the Ernpire and United States airlines wi'l be confirmed very shortly. Only a few rninor technical matters remain to be settled hefore the agreement is ratified. The United States is understood to liave withdrawn its prewar ohjection to allowing Empire planes to land at Kawaii.
