CIVIC THEATRE
FINALLY TO-NIGHT "Get me Hitler, Mussolini and a Jap ambassador," came a voice over the dictograph in the casting office of the Hal Roach Studios, and there was launched one of the most widespread and thorough searches of Hollywood's acting personnel since the casting of "Gone With the Wind." The voice was that of producer Glenn Tryon and the occasion was the start of production on the newest Hal Roach comedy, "The Devil With Hitler," at the Civic Theatre. The story revolving about the axis partners is broad satire, but the characters themselves bear as close a physical resemblance as it was possible to obtain. For too long a time that delightful, - light-fingered gentleman of fiction — Arsene Lupin — has been absent from the screen, but Universal Studio has rectified that by making "Enter Arsene Lupin," which also shows at the Civic Theatre.
