FARMERS DISSATISFIED WITH ELECTORAL CHANGES

HASTINGS, April 1U._ Dissatisfaction with the changes iii the electoral bouudaries was expressed at a meeting oi the Ilawke's Bay provincial executive of the Federated Farmers this afternoon, the main objections being the l'ack of considera- ' t.iyn shown to community interest aiul the geographical handicaps under wliich some , districts were placed, and the incre'.ase in the i*if t betvv ceii couii try and town. It was pointed out by Mr. J. Todd that Auckland city liad now as many representatives as half the South Island. The present bouudaries, wliicii cut off towns completely from the country surrounding, are vvrottg, " said Mr. I. S Plummer. "The new bouudaries are contrary to all that the farmers have been working for. The rift between town and country has been great enough, and this is ouiy accentuating it. It is only leading to a state of affairs in Parliament where we will have 'one party representing the towns and another country interests.
