In consequence rationing will be imposed as from to-day. The board'« managing-secre-tary (Mr. R. A. Frederikson) told a "Chronicle" representative this morning thajt in order to cause a minimum of inconveMence the rationing would , -operate between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m., and would take the form of haif-jhourly cut- , olfs of various parts of the district. A start .was to be made with the southern end of the district to-day and it would he extended to-morrow to the northern part. Mr. Frederikson made an appeal to consumers to exercise very great care in the use of electricity, and warned that if the allocation continued to be exceeded more drastic rationing might be necessary.
