SPORTS REVIEW

Heavy rain on Saturday afternoon caused the abandonment of the majority of the sports fixtures which were to have been held throughout the district, and marred those which it was possible to piay. *The North-South cricket match and all competition tennis games were cancelled. The Levin Bowling Ciub was to have sent one rink to Foxton and three to Shannon, and to have received a visit from the Otaki Club 011 its own green, but none of these matches eventuated. The Central Club managed to play the semi-final of its rinks championship, but there were no other games. The Levin Golf ; Club's second medal round was finalised under unpleasant conditions.
