JUNIOR NATIONAL PARTY
TWO MEftlBERS FAREWELLED At ttie - Anglican Hall recently members of the Otaki Branch qf the Junior National, Party took the opportunity of 4aying farewell to two of their most popular members, Miss Rae Jackson, who now resides in Nelson, and Mr. Roy 'Eagle, who** has -entered J-Force. The evening was of a social nature, the spleridid music being kindly supplied by Mr. Bain. During the evening the chairman, Mr. Peter Elliott, expressed regret at these two members having to leave the branch, but he hoped Miss Jackson would' join the Nelson Branch, where her . services would be appreciated as much by the Otaki Branch. He wished Mr. Eagle good luck in his new adventure, and hoped he would become a member again when he returned to New Zealand. Mr. Elliott then called on Miss Phyllis Cottle, who presented Miss Jackson -with a silver powder bowl and Mr. Eagle with a leather writing set. Miss Jackson in a few well chosen words,* 'expressed thanks to the branch and wished it every success. Mr. Eagle said he appreciated what the branch had done'; and also wished* it e.very succes8. • Dancing ; "contihued' and a very enjoyable evening concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
