Received Tuesday, 10.5 a,m. LONDON, April 8. The Persian Prime Minister, M. Sultaneh, has ordered the Persian armed forces to proceed immediately to Mazanderan Province following reports of an aitempted coup d'etat, says Reuter's Teheran correspondent. Searches for arms are to be made throughout the province. M. Sultaneh told correspondents; "The forces have been told to proceed immediately to all towns evacuated by the Russians in Mazanderan, Kazvin and Resht. There is no cause for disquiet and the situation will be under control when the troops arrive." The correspondent says that an abortive coup was apparently directed against M. Sultaneh, who has aroused considerable resentment in Right-Wing quarters because of his oil agreement with Russia. The coup was probably planned in Teheran. It is learned that the gendarmerie attacked rebel headquarters in the Mazanderan town of Shahi, on the key railway from Teheran to Bandarshar, and arrested four men, reported to be guards, who were asleep at their posts. The men were brought to Teheran under armed escort.
