Hop Crop Veyy Small This season's hop crop was the smallest on record since the ineeptjop of the industry in Nelson, §tated Mr. B. T. Rowling, chairman of the Hop Marketing Committee. The total crop would not be more than three-fifths of the brewers' requirements and importations would be necessary owing to the low yield ahd the high costs of production. Negotiations were proceeding with the Price Tribunal for an increased prjce but, so far, the negotiatjons were not satisfactory to the growers. It is understood that the tri^ bUhUl has agreed to a payment of gs ?d a pound fpr this year's crop but that this price is not acceptable to the growers. The price last geason was 2s. %
