CHURCH OF ENGLAND DANCE

The Church of England Women's Guild held another of its popular dances in the Parish Hall on Thursday evening. There was a large gathering of dancers present. The music was supplied by the local orchestra, consisting of Miss D. Woods and Messrs. V. Bateman, Plimmer and K. Thompson. Also assisting was Miss D. Cleal, of Levin. A number of competition dances were held and the following were the winners: Mrs. Waterson and Mr. S. E. Hyde, Miss Burke and Mr. K. Woods and Miss Callesen and Mr. Munford.^ Five couples were selected for the. competition dance, the final of which will be held during next month. A delightful supper was served by the hostesses, . Mesdames Hyde, Munford, Chester and ; Parr. The doorkeeper was Mr. Chester, Snr., and the M.C. was Mr. Cundy. A cake was won by F. Taylor. Dancing was enjoyed by all until a late hour. . t
