Personal Mr. Norman Callesen has returned home after spending a holiday at Bulls. Gloster Meteor Plane The town clerk (Mr. j. T. Bovis) has received advice' that the Gloster Meteor jet-propelled aircraft will fly over Shannon at approximately 12.35 p.m. on Monday. Dinner to Servicemen At a recent meeting of the Shannon Women's Institute it was decided to once again hold the annual dinner to returned personnel in the Druids' Hall after the service on Anzac Day. It was agreed that an invitation be extended to all returned personnel. Musical Evening A most enjoyable rriusical evening was spent at Mrs. Cane's residence on Thursday evening, when friends gathered to welcome Mr. John Booth, who has just returned from overseas. Mr. Dooth delighted the company with items from all the well-known composers, and explained the lives of some and how each different kind of rriusic was introduced. While overseas, Mr.: Booth has been studying pipe organ music, and intends to make this his calling in the future. Mrs. Doug. Hook's violin items were also much appreciated. Singing and a bounteous supper brought a most enjoyable evening to a close.
