WOMEN'S GUILD
Mrs. E. L. Hyde presided over a large gathering of members at the weekly meeting of the Church of England Women's Guild, held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Three new members were enrolled. They were Mesdames Collins and Allerby and Miss Allerby. Apologies were received from the Rev. J. H. Datson and Mesdames. Mills and Vinsen. A balance-sheet was presented by Mr. Hallam and shovyed"^; credit of £55 5s 9d, which is a very fine effort on behalf_of members. • A vote. of thanks was extended to Mr. Hallam. A delightful afternoori tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames P. Wright and D. Jones. A bring-and-buy stall transacted very brisk business, and everything that was offering was sold.. During the afternoon two competitions were held and were won by- Mesdames Hyde and Allerby. Knitting wool which had been . purchased since the last meeting was handed out to the knitters, who will make^ it up into articles to be sold . at the., church bazaar, whicli will be held at the end of the year. , S | . ; Hostesses for the ' next meeting are to be Mesdames Collins and Christensen.
