ARCO LIKES SOFT GOING

Arco, who defeated Young Margaret in the final 50 yards at Awapuni, revealed that he flourishes in soft going. He was the only first placed horse of the day to win on the inside going, but his finishing run was so powerful that he will be dangerous in the Hawke's Bay Cup. Arco, who is owned by Mr. Leo Collinson, is a four-year-old bay gelding by Coronach from Aratulla, and he is trained by C. J. Thompson, of Awapuni. His record is a good one. Out of eighteen starts he has secured six wins, two seconds ' and four thirds, with £1,777 v in j stakes. He did not race as a two1 year-old.
