WELLINGTON, April 4. By an excension of the present classes of meat exported, increased supplies will be sent' to Britain. An announce..ieiit of these classes, an agreement on which has heen reacied between the New Zealand and British Governments, was made to-day hy the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. B. Roberts). These extensions are '^art of the present emergency camp..ign to send more food to Britain and were reported on to the production subcommittee of the Famine Emergency Conimittee which met in Well.ng.on this week. Fo:iovhng are the new classes of meats which wiil he accepteu b.y the Marketing Department for export: — (a) Ewes over 721 os, prime wethe^s over £01b3 and second class wethers over 721hs., without any weight limitation, are to he left bone in and telescoped without heing defeated. (b) Existing stocks of honeless miltton. (c) Head meats of any description; different classes of head meat . to be packed separateiy. (d) Bam meat, honeless, including two-tooths. killed after March 31 in the North Island and April 20 in the South Island. Ail the above classes of meat are included as "maftufacturing meat" and will have the word "manufactur.ng" marked on the container, in aadition j to a >fulL description of the contents. In addition, the amount exported will be ihcreassd by sendihg sound parts oi' blemislied carcsses fit for export, which will he packed in bags containing n^t more than GOlhs. , The freezing companies have also been urged to increase to the greate3t extent. pcssible the export of skirts and beef tripes.
