WELLINGTON, April 4. It has been announced in Washington that special legisiation is being introduced on behalf of alien fianeees of members of the American Armed Forces. Pending snch time as the proposed legisiation, if it becomes law, shall take effect, the United States Government has suspended the special regulation applieable to Australia and New Zealand, under which American Consular establishments have been authorised to issue to -such fianeees emigrating to the United States for permanent residence, if the quota of their country of birth be- \ carne exhausted, temporary visitors' visas, instead of immigration visas. The Nenv Zealand quota is now exhausted and. the new quota of 100 will not become available until iXuly 1.
