KOPUTAROA SCHOOL JUBILEE
CELEBRATIONS BEGAN TO-DAY The jubilee ' celebrations in connection with the Koputaroa School comftienced this afternoon and will be continued throughout the' weekend. The school first opened in 1891 and completed fifty years service in. 1941, but on account of the war the celebrations were' postponed. This afternoon speeches of welcome were made,. and a children 's sports meeting was held, whiie to-nignt there is the grand jubilee dance. To-morrow activities commence at 1 p.m. with reception.speech.es, followed by the roll call at 1.30, group photographs at 2.30 and afternoon tea at 3 p.m. At 6.30 p.m. the reunion dinner is to be held. The proceedings conclude on Sunday at 2 p.m. with a church service. Free buses from the Levin Post Office have been arranged. One .will leave to-night at 8.30 p.m. for the dance, and to-morrOv? there .will be departures at 12.45 anh 6 p.m. On Sunday a bus leaves at 1.30 p.m. for the service. In each case the return trips will be made after the functions.
