Mrs. J. Maitin, of Wellington, is at present staying with Mrs. F. ,P. j Wilson, of Trafalgar Street. Mrs. W. Carol Harley, of Whangarei, is a visitor to Levin, being the guest of Mrs. II. Walkley, -Weraroa j Road. Mrs. Devine, of Levin, left Wellington this morning by plane for Blenheim. She will spend a three weeks' holiday in the South Island. The English industrialist Lor'd; Forrester has arrived in New Zealand from Sydney. Lord Forrester, who is connected with a number of English engineering firms, is visit-' ing New Zealand on business interests. He is 35 years of age and is the eldest son of the fourth Earl of Verdlam. In recent examinations conducted by the Royal Scheols of Music, London, the followlng Levin candidates, all pupils of Mr. C. H. Olds, were successful: — Stage I. — Pass with distinction: G. Bishop, V. Bishop, J; Clark, C. Dittmer, J. Dome, R. Harvey, P. Moody, N. Saulbrey and N. Stupples. Pass v/ith credit: L. Dittmer, L. Joblin, B. Meynell and A. Seager. Pass: D. Anyon, R. Giles and W. Murray. Stage II. — Pass with distinction: D. Spicer. Mr. Keith J. Holyoake, M.P. for Pahiatua, left Dannevirke on Wednesday to join the delegation which will represent New Zealand at the International Farmers' Conference to be held in London in May. "Ihe delegation which comprises Mr. W. Hale, chairman of the New Zealand Dairy Board, Mr. G. Grigg, chairman of the New Zealand Meat Board, Mr. Congdon of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation, Mr. W. W. Muiholland, president of jthe New Zealand Farmers' Union, { 1 Mr. K. J. Though not a j member of this delegation, Mr. N. Jamieson, chairman of the New Zealand Wool Board, will also sail on the same ship.
