The Hastings raeeeourse has made a wonderful recovery from the severe scorching it reeeived duringr tlie drought. The racing track is uow woll c'overed witli a good thiek sole of grass, especiallv between the mile and the two furlong posts. The goiug 011 the opening'day of tlie Ilawke's Bav Cup meeting next Saturday should be exeellent.
