WEDDING BELLS

DOREE — -SHEDDON A wedding of local interest took place at St: Paul's Pro^Cathedxal, Wellington, when Betty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Sheddon was married to John Milton Doree. ; 'The bride wore a beautiful white Taccone dress and carried a bouquet of gladioli and.dahlias. The bridesmaids were dressed in gold. At the church Miss L. McQuinn sang the solo "But the Lcird be Mindful." After the service a delightful reception was held in the R.S.A. club rooms.at Kelburn. It is interesting, to note that the wedding took place on the silver wedding anniversary day of the bride's people, and as a fitting gesture the bridal couple presented Mr. and Mrs. Sheddon with half of the wedding cake. Before taking up his present post in Masterton, Mr. Sheddon was for a number of years headmaster of the Shannon School and Betty was a popular figure among the younger set of this town. A number of Shannon friends were among the guests.
