After 37 years as ediitor of the Otago Daily Times and 60 years in ijournalisih in Dunedin, Sir James HutChison, doyen of newspaper editors in New Zealand, is retiring at the end of the month. Mr. P. M. Butler, who represented ihe' workers of New Zealand as a delegate to the conference of the International Labour dfhce in Raris last year, and -who was elected deputy memiber on the ■g.overning body, has received an invitation by eablegram \to act on the goverhing' ,b,ody at its ninety-eighth session ito be held in Montreal on May 23. The staff of the Hor, ©whenua 'Electric Power Board gathered yesterday morning to extend good Wishes to Miss E. Staples, who has resigned from her position as cashier to be married. »Gh behaTf of the staff the managlng-seCretary Mr. R. A. Frederikson, voiced appreciation of the good work she had done during her -association with the Board "and in making a p;resentation to her said it earrred the very best wishes of the staff for her future. Miss Staples suitably acknowledged the felieitations. ^
