WELLINGTON, March 28. The Government and producer cooperatives represented by the Dominion lT'oducers' Co-operatiye Agencv, Ltd., had linalised a mutually satisfactory agreement with Gombined Distributors, Ltd., for the pui'cliase of their business of sole distributors Of butter and eggs and other primary produce in the Wellington city marketing area, said the Minister of Marketing, Hon. B. Roberts, last night. Gombined Distributors, Ltd., consisting of eight inercluiiits and the lnternal Marketing Department, was i'ormed in 1 D-tl to meet wartime emergencies and luis done a remarkably Jine job under adverse conditions, suid Ihe Minister. The mercliants, realising that this was purely a wartime emergency, had now agreed to dispose of their interests in order that the responsibility of marketing might be assumed by the cooperative prodticers and the Government. The Dominion Producers ' Co-opera-live Agencv, Ltd., eomprised 30 cooperative dairy companies in- the Wellington, llawke's Bay', Marlborough and Nelson districts. The basis of agreement was the free cooperative of 1 Ihe producers and the Government in j un approacli for the purpose of organis- i ing and administering .the marketing of j dairy and other primary produce in Ihe i Wellington marketing district; ; The new organisation will be man- j uged by a directorate consisting of 1 cipial representation of thc Government! and cooperative producers.
