Personal The many friends of Mrs. C. Anderson, of Kaihinau Road, will be, pleased to hear that her health is improving. Labjour Party's Euchre The winners of the Labour Party's weekly euchre tournament held in Laurvig's Hall were Mrs. McLaggan and Mr. R. Andrews. Croquet An mteresting croquet match was played on the local green between Mrs. Pedersen and Mrs. Morrison. The latter proved the victor by five hoops. Industries for Shannon The public is reminded that Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P., will be attending a public meeting in the Renown Theatre to-morrow evening to hear suggestions for any possible industries for this town. The Mayor (Mr. R. E. Downes) stat'ed last evening that a large gathering of citizens was expected. "Beetle" Evening There was a large gathering of Moutoa residents at the Moutoa Hall on Saturday for a "Beetle" evening which was held in aid of the Parcels for Britain Fund. At the conclusion of the "beetle" evening, which was won by Miss S. Newth and Mr. Trembath, dancing was continued until a late hour. R.S.A. Euchre Commencing on Monday,-. March 11, the women 's section of the Shannon Returned Services' Association commenced a special points prize competition at their weekly euchre tournament.^ A similar competition will be run each six weeks and on Monday, November 25, the points prize for the year will be decided. On Monday, March 18, the prize winners ?were Mesdames R, Roberts, Quinlan, Tremewan and Mr. R. Sands. Last Monday evening the winners were Mesdames T. Parr and Radford, Messrs. S. McLaggan and R. Harding.
