Harvest thanksgiving $ervices were held in the various Anglican churches of the parish, and .vere well attencted. The produce was sent to the Anglican orphanages. A corporate communion of the members of the Mothers' Union was held in the St. Paul's Anglican Church, conducted by the Rev. Rickells. This was followed by a morning tea at Mrs. Sherrings. Several parties have been given of late in honour of Mrs. Wolferstan on the occasion of her approching marriage. Mrs. Wolferstan. has been the recipient of many useful gifts and expressions of good wishes for her future happiness. Beautiful sunny autumn weather days have been the order of the day for the past week. Mushrooms have been very plentiful, the heavy dews at night have proved very beneficial for their growth. • Women's Institute The Paraparaumu Women'; Institute held its annual March meeting in the Anglican Hall, presided over by Mrs. Delahunty. Mrs Delahunty, retiring president, thanked all for their splendid work during the year. The reportr showed that patriotic work hao been done, educational talks and demonstrations had been given and the institute was sound financially the balance-sheet showing a very pleasing credit. The library which had been purchased and paid for in a yeau had a growing membership and over 1660 flne books on its shelves. Mrs. Delahunty then introduced Mrs. Spencer, of Levin, a member oi the federation executive, wno c.onducted the election for commiutee members. Mrs. Spencer also gave an interesting and thought-pro-voking address on "Housing for thf Aged." Mr. Hall and Rev. Wright acted as scrutineers for the election a'nd were accorded a hearty vote oi thanks. The election results were as follows: — President: Mrs. Hornsby; treasurer: Miss Cromb: secretary: Miss Clarkson; committee: Mes- | dames Ashworth, Delahunty, Eggers, 'Fitchett, Hickson, Hadfield, Mc Isaacs, Smith and Weston, Misses Hansen, Cromb and Clarkson. Afternoon tea was served and the meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
