Napier Has Faulty Milk Allegations that sickne^s among children has resulted from the drinking of the milk supplied to schools were discussed at a meeting .of the Napier Borough Council. Complaints were also received that unsatisfactory milk had been sol'd by retail in Napier. Inspector E. Grant reported that of 11 samples recently taken, three put to the reductase test and one to the pasteurising test were below standard. In the' course of discussion, councillors stated that much of the milk coming from Dannevirke to supplement the local supply was in a state unfit for human consumption withiii a few hours of delivery. There had been many complaints about the milk being in a "filthy" state," said the Mayor. Mr. T. W. Hercock. However, the position would be rectified when the milk supply was brought under the control of the new Act.-
