Dr. E. Marsden, Director of the ! Department of Scientific and Indusj trial Research, has received official | advice from London that he has • been appointed a Fellow of the jRoyal Society. Professor A. F. Barker, emeritus j Professor of Textiles at Leeds Unij versity, who is visiting the Dominion 1 as the guest of the New Zealand | Government, spent yesterday at Massey Agricultural College, and in 1 the afternoon addressed students on the progress of experiments in wool and sheep breeding. A move in the district to establish old time dancing again has resulted in the Wanderers' Football Club holding one of these | dances to-night in the Regent Ball1 room. The hall has been beautifully j decorated for the occasion and this, j combined with Billy Larkin's orchestra, will make the evening one to remember. A special sitdown supper is being prepared by *a very capable group of women. The prices are popular and everyone is assured of a most enjoyal)le evening.
