Big Theatre Queue A local residerit, who is also a keen' theatre-goer, decided to journey to Palmerston North yesterday by the early morning service car in order to reserve seats for the light opera which opens this week. Arriving at the city at about 5 a.ni. she was amazed to flnd that a queue had already formed at the booking office. Howrever, after waiting four hours for the office to open, she was rewarded "oy securing some of the best seats in the house. By the time the office opened the queue had extended to the State Theatre, and it remained at that length untii all seats were sbld in the early afternoon. The Prize Went Throughout the bowling season a team of bowlers representing the local Dairy Company has had a notice posted on the notice board, inviting challenges from self considered bowlers of the' .Shannon Club to compete for a prize of two packets of tobacco and two packets of cigarettes. The invitation was aceepced and a match arranged for last evening, but when the chal,lengers failed to show up until darkness fell it was decided to award the match to the dairy company team on default. However, after checking up it was found that the dairy team had smoked the prize while waiting for the challengers to arrive.
