Babies were starved to skeletons, declared witnesses 111 the trial of eight Germans accused of using a habies' home to kill new-born chndren of Polisn slave workers. The" only medical attent^on the baoies received was when a doctor called to sign death ccrtificates. One oi' the accused, a former Mayor of Veipire, a viliage 20 miles from Brunswick, told investigators, accordmg to the prosecution, that it was im- . material to him whether the children livcd or died. Another accused had stated. that the children were just as wcll dead "because they would grow up enemies of Germany."
