CHRISTCHURCH, March :25. 'The acting-Postmaster-General j (Hon. F. Jones) announced that he was now able to appi'ove the use of the 28-29 megacycle band on a wdrld-wide basis, as "from March j 30, by licensed New Zealand | amateurs who hold ten-metre high frequency permits. The Minister added that further advice was being awaited regarding international proposals for the release 'Of 'Other amateur frequencies, and as soon as this was received he would see whether more could be done for New Zealand amateurs. In the meantime, Mr. Jones said, it was not possible to lift the restriction which limits communication on the 80-metre and fivemetre bands to New Zealand contracts only.
