HOW CHRIST CONQUERED
— Rev. F. B. James.
When Jesus knew that the tempter's worst assault was at hand, He also knew that His- soul was a citaiel that could not be overthrown. rhere was no weak point in His dcfences, no unguarded door, no Lraitorous thought in His heart that would welcome the enemy. He was beyond the tempter's power. "The prince of this world cometh and hc hath nothing in me." Is it possible for me to be in any sense beyond the tempter's .power? The records of Christian experience do seem to speak of a time when the soul is so fixed in its choice of God that the allurements of evil are spread before it. in vain.
