E. -Bennett, be signed and sealed by the council; that Mr. R. M. D'Ath be advised. that the fee for a half-inch extraordlnary watef supply. would be £6 per annum; that* dll the extraordinary water supply agreements, submitted to the meeting by the town clerk (Mr. Wilson) be signed on behalf of the council; that the quote received from Messrs. Hardie and Co. for the four-inch fibrolite pipes for the extension on Main .County Road* be accepted; that in the interests of health the council recommend that approval for the new butcher's shop, applied for by Mr, W. McBeth, be treated as a matter of urgency. Accounts- amounting to" £296 6s 6d were passqd for payment. A complete summary of all outstanding rates was considered by the council, and resolved that notice be given that payments must be made within seven days, and f ailing payment that coiirt action-be taken. A summary of 'all outstanding irrecoverable rates was considered, and the council resolved that these be written off. - The council considered the remits for the municipal conference to be held at Christchurch next week, and gave instructions which of the remits were to be supported.
