WOMAN PILOT KILLED
Received PHday, 9,20 p,m, LONjDQN, "March. 22. The first woman in tlf.e world to fiy a jet-plane when she piloted a Meteor a few months ago? First Officer Mrs. Rosamund Everard Steenkamp, agea 32, was killed to-day when- a Spitfire she was delivering in the Midlands crashed. She was a wealthy South African and gave up a life of luxury to join the R.A.F. Ferry Service.
