Arco (Boreham) and Dutch Mary (iSaunders) huished 011 terms at the conclusion of six furlongs in 1.22 1-5, Ihe last tliree taking 42sec. Theiolvi. ( Waddell') displayed his usual speed by gctting to the end of live furlongs iu 1.5, after runuing the lirst two in 25 i-5sec. Kink (Waddell) strode over seven furlongs to record 1.3(5. He iinished stronglv to cut out the last tliree in 40 l-5sec. Jlesalliance (Bowness) traversed n mile iu 1.51, the last live furlongs taking 1.7. Tula (Waddell) beat Bonhill (Aitkeu) over seven furlongs in 1.3(5 3-5, the last three in 41 l-5sec. The i'ormer is well and is not without prospects in the Te Matai Handicap. The former appeared to liave plenty in reserve and, should show up if the going is yielding tomorrow. Hitting out with plenty of dash, Finaiu'.ial (Waddell) placed seven furlongs behind in 1.34, easilv the best of the morning. He caine home the last tliree in 39 4-5sec, and appears to lie right back to his best. The novice Pellmeer (Pearce) sur[irised by fmishing well clear of Specialist (Hogg) over a smartlv-run -five furlongs in 1.5. Young Margaret (Lowry > had little difficulty in accounting for Aiipier (Pearce) over a siinilar distaitce in 1.7 2-5. Broderie (Waddell) and Oemo (Collins) recorded similar figures. Night Foe (McDonald) was travelling more freely than Jonathan Jo (Waddell) at the end of five furlongs in 1.5^1-5. Both Gisborne candidates have come through their racing at Trentham in good stvle and should race prominently. Perfect Peace (McDonald) and Yarrow (Waddell) finislied several lengths nhead of Shining King (Atkins) over six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. Tlie two-vear-old Perfect Peace went iinpressively, but Shining King shaped poorly. A Tatara (Pearce) was too good for Emerge (Saunders) and Liberality (Hogg), with Lady Barrington (Waddell) several lengths away at the end of five furlongs in 1.5 3-5. Te Ruru (Tomperton) schooled over six hurdles, but tired badly and did not clear the last two veiv well. Sky King (Ford) went over a round of four hurdles, but was inclined to junip extravagantly and appears to Jack experience. Golonel Bogey (Murray) cleared four hurdles satisfactorily.
