Russia moved her forces into Persia in accordance with the provl.sioins of Article Six of the 1921 Treaty giving Russia the right to i!o so as a measure of defence should Persia be turned into a war base for a military attack against Russia, says Izvestia. The paper adds that the Soviet forces moved unto Persia in August, 1941, some months before the conclusion of the Russian-British-Persian Treaty. Britain also moved an army into Persia, but formally esteblished her right to their pres-ein-e there only later when the Tri-Partite Treaty wa,s signed.
