EARLY MORNING FIRE
outbreak IN workshop a fire broke out at about 4.30 o'clock this morning in a building owned by Mr. W. R. Lennie, and Which adjoins his residence in Cambridge Street, Levin. The building was comprised of a washhouse, garage, workshop and store rpom, and the seat of the ffre was in the store room, whepe the con^ tents of papers, paint and painter's accessories burnt freely. 1 Though the brigade turned out promptly the' fire hab a good hold When it arrived. Nevertheless, the brigade made a good save with the building, but the stock ip fhe stQre rqom was a total loss. Fortunately, the owner's car was with a garage firm ih town at the time, while he was able to remove a truck befpire the fire developed to any extpnt. N — The buildlfig was insui'eh fqr £§Q With the New Zealand ' Insurance Cpmpany and the stock for £25Q With the Yorksjiire Insutauce Gompany. The value of the latter, however, is estimated at £7Q0 so that Mr. Lennie will be a heavy loser, . *
